Jeez Murphy, I totally agree with your utopian view of the World! You are a dreamer and so am I, but we know it´s never gonna happen unless we EVOLVE into a better human race. And I´m not talking just a few people, but ALL of us.

Controlling our basic human emotions…. mmmh, that sounds almost Star Trekkish (the Vulcans!) to me, nice idea, but impossible, sadly.

I don´t read or watch the news much these days anymore. I don´t need the news to rub it into my face to KNOW that all the shit out there exists. Every day it´s just a repetition of yet another war or another famine somewhere else in the World, and it makes me so terribly sad, and a lot of the time I feel *ashamed* to be of the same species as these “human beings” when they go on about atrocities, rape, murder, wars etc.

Why do you think I prefer to live with my 3 cats? I prefer animals to humans *any* day. They are honest and love you unconditionally. The funny thing is that the human traits of *jealousy* and *greed* would apply to them too. Only, they would only use it for personal gain and not build a whole society/culture around it. Well, I guess our curse is that we *have* the intelligence to do this and they don´t. And yes, it IS a curse!

As for being proud of your nationality… I am German by birth and passport, but my grandparents were Italian and other granddad Austrian, so I would have to say I´m EUROPEAN. I am not proud of it, that´s simply what I *am*. I didn´t choose to be born that way! I have to say that I don´t care much for nationality, there are good people and evil people in EVERY nationality.

Anyways, I´m going back to cuddling some kitties now and to being happy.
